What no hidden charges actually means

Earlier that week I had a call from someone who'd gone with a cheaper quote. The job was done, then the invoice added travel and GST on top — the classic "from" price that isn't the price. I wrote on 4 July 2026: "there are no hidden charges with services from the Gutter Guy. No travel charges, GST or surcharges on top ... just an honest, good value service."
With me, you tell me your suburb, storeys and what you want (gutters alone, plus windows or solar). I quote one number. That's the invoice. From $109 for a standard single-storey gutter clean is the entry point I post; larger or double-storey homes are quoted individually, but still one number, upfront.
Six reviews mention fair or reasonable pricing without me prompting them. One says "very competitive," another "invoice was very reasonable." That only happens when the quote and the invoice match. If access turns out to be harder than the photo suggested, I re-quote before I start — not after I finish.
MoneyHub lists me in their Top Gutter Cleaning Services in Christchurch and cites 5.0 from 10+ reviews (now 28). The differentiator they don't name, but I will, is transparency — it's the wedge that matters when every ad says "from $99."
